Perpetrators of a recent theft have been arrested. On December 24, Prestonsburg Police Sergeant Ralph Frasure successfully served arrest warrants on individuals responsible for a Walmart purse theft. James Kevin Hughes stole an elderly woman’s wallet on December 16 from her unattended purse. A female he was with, Bridget Hughes, had an arrest warrant for an unrelated case. They were arrest and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center. The Prestonsburg Police Department thanked The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in locating the Hughes and thanked the community for helping to identify them.
