Hazard Police received a report Tuesday evening, December 27, that a man had snatched a woman’s purse and knocked her to the ground during a robbery at the Daniel Boone Plaza Shopping Center. Officer John Holbrook was the first to arrive on the scene. Upon his arrival, a witness to the incident had detained the suspect and was holding him on the ground. The suspect, 43-year-old Benjamin Todd Mobelini, of Viper, was charged with 2nd degree robbery. He told police he needed the money to buy drugs. He was lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail.
