Pike County Detention Center to Begin Mentorship Program

The Pike County Detention Center will begin a mentorship program in February 2017. The program will pair volunteers with young inmates, aged 18 to 23 with children, who are sentenced to three months in jail or more, to teach them valuable life skills. Six mentors have already signed up for the program. Pike County Jailer Freddie Lewis said the jail is also planning a female mentorship program in 2017.
