KSP Arrests Three in Martin on Multiple Drug Charges, Stolen Property

After a lengthy investigation, Troopers and Detectives with Kentucky State Police, Post 09 successfully seized drugs, money, and a firearm from a Martin residence on Monday, January 2, 2017. Trooper Matthew Mihalik obtained a warrant to search a residence on Conn Drive in the Martin community of Floyd County. While conducting a search of the residence, Troopers located and seized 4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 21 Hydrocodone tablets, 5 Alprazolam tablets, and several firearms. Troopers also recovered one stolen firearm, and one stolen ATV. Additionally, approximately $2,300 in cash was seized from the home.

Toby Akers, 40 of Martin, was charged with multiple felony drugs charges, 2 charges of a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, 2 charges of Receiving Stolen Property, Drug Paraphernalia, and Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree. Tiffany Akers, 33, was charged with Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, and Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree. And Joshua Akers, 19, was charged with Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm). They were lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
