The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office will be adding new road check locations throughout January and February 2017, at the request of the public. Based on complaints received of reckless drivers, nuisance ATV’s, impaired driving, and some high traffic and high theft areas, the Sheriff’s office has added extra patrols. Locations added include 6th street in Paintsville, Little Mud Lick Road near KY 201, KY 172 at the Stockyard, and several others. Road checks will be conducted more often in an attempt to clear roadways of impaired drivers. Seat belt and car seat usage will also be aggressively enforced.
