Residents were evacuated from their rooms at Riverview Healthcare in Prestonsburg Sunday, January 8, after a fire on the second floor. The fire was reported around 10am. Residents from the second floor were evacuated to the first floor dining area while emergency personnel responded to the scene. Prestonsburg Fire Department Captain Darrell Sparks said two residents and two employees were transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries, including smoke inhalation. The fire was contained to the room of origin.  The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
