Kentucky Lottery Game to be Renamed in Honor of 225th Anniversary of State

This year marks the 225th anniversary of the birth of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and to help celebrate, the Kentucky Lottery is making changes to one of its draw games.

Kentucky Cash Ball has been around 15 years and lottery Spokesman Chip Polston said it was time for a facelift. The game is being renamed Cash Ball 225, in honor of the state’s landmark birthday, with a new top prize of $225,000. Polston says that’s fitting because the game, unlike Powerball and Mega Millions, is unique to Kentucky. In addition, Polston said the new game is simpler with better lower-tier prizes. Lottery staffers are hitting the road to explain the new game in nine Kentucky citities.
