Knox County Deputies Make Drug Arrest

Around 12:30am January 10, Knox County Deputy Sheriff Mikey Ashurst observed a vehicle containing two male subjects outside a residence with suspected drug activity. The two men said they were waiting on a female to come out of the house, who went back inside after seeing the deputy. Deputy Ashurst, assisted by Deputy Andrew Lawson, observed several individuals inside the home. They made contact with Virgil Jones, 18, concealing a .25 caliber handgun in his pants pocket, along with a syringe and four small plastic bags of suspected crystal meth. Four other individuals were also arrested at the residence, with charges from bench warrants and public intoxication. All five were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
