A home in Betsy Layne caught fire around 8:30pm January 11. The home was located on U.S. 23 next to the Family Dollar store. Officials with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department as well as Betsy Layne and Allen Fire Departments were on hand to assist traffic in the area and extinguish the flames. The family made it out of the house safely, but their home was destroyed.
