Hazard Police Arrest Man Threatening Wife with Baseball Bat

Around 4:30pm January 18, Hazard Police received a report of a man outside a Chester Street residence armed with a baseball bat, threatening his wife. The man, Billy Crawford, reportedly kicked the door in, damaging the lock, door jamb, and wall behind the door. He picked up the baseball bat inside and began swinging it, not allowing three occupants at the residence to leave. When officers arrived, Crawford was standing on the porch. He resisted arrest and tried to flee from officers. He was arrested for multiple charges, including assault, wanton endangerment, and unlawful imprisonment.
