The City is Whitesburg is planning a restoration of the Daniel Boone Hotel. The city received two $500,000 grants, one from the Appalachian Regional Commission and another from the Department of Local Government. The projected cost of the renovation is estimated around $6.5 million, which Whitesburg Mayor James Craft said they still need to raise the additional funding.
