Drug Raid on Business in Knox County

On Monday, January 23, 2017, Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a drug raid at Smith’s Bargain Store on KY 225 in Artemus. This investigation was the result of numerous complaints made to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office over the past several weeks. Sheriff Mike Smith and his deputies located and seized over 20 OxyContin tablets, over 20 Xanax tablets, several Gabapentin tablets, a small amount of methamphetamine, a defaced .32 caliber handgun and over $4,000 in cash. Scotty Smith, 47, was arrested and charged with 1st degree trafficking in controlled substance. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
