Langley Man Arrested for DUI, Drug Trafficking

On Tuesday, January 24, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on KY Route 321, when Hank Pelphrey, 60, of Langley, KY, pulled up. He was observed to be intoxicated, which was confirmed with a field sobriety test. Pelphrey consented to a search of his vehicle which resulted in deputies finding crystal meth, various prescription pills, marijuana, a substance believed to be heroin, two hand guns, a set of scales, and over $1000 in cash. He was arrested and charged with DUI, trafficking in controlled substance, and possession of a concealed deadly weapon by a felony offender. Pelphrey was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
