Kentucky Senator Rand Paul introduced a bill to replace the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday. Paul’s bill would eliminate individual mandate and minimum coverage standards, while allowing a two-year window for people with preexisting conditions to sign up for care. Additional changes to the healthcare market would be allowing the selling of plans across state lines, allow HSAs to be used without a high-deductible plan, and allow individuals and small businesses to pool together to get insurance through membership in a trade or professional organization.
