The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 9 is pre-treating roadways today in advance of weekend snow by applying a saltwater brine to travel lanes, preventing snow and ice from freezing. Motorists show watch for slow-moving spray vehicles and other trucks throughout the day and possibly Saturday on highways in Bath, Boyd, Carter, Elliot, Fleming, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, Nicholas and Rowan counties. Snow plows are also ready if needed this weekend. Motorists should not slick roadways are possible while plow and salt trucks are out. Drivers are asked to slow down and use caution.
