A rock slide caused a power outage in Perry County Thursday morning, January 26, 2017. The slide reportedly tripped a breaker, causing power outages for several hundred Kentucky Power customers in Perry County. Hazard Police reported the outage caused traffic lights to be out at the intersection of Highway 15 and Highway 80 near the Daniel Boone Plaza, as well as intersections of the Hal Rogers Parkway and the Hazard Village Shopping Center. Power to all traffic lights was restored after about an hour.
