Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland is investigating an accidental shooting that occurred on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at approximately 1pm. Troopers responded to 3547 Hoods Run Road and discovered a 6-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the chest. Troopers Patrick Hamilton and Joshua Collett performed first aid until EMS arrived on scene. The Juvenile was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital where she is in critical, but stable condition. During the investigation, it was determined she and two other juveniles, age 6 and 5, were playing and a firearm was discharged. The investigation is ongoing.
