The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary call Wednesday evening where they found several dogs shot at the home. The victim told police there were a total of five dogs; one is still missing, and two are at the vet’s office in critical condition. A suspect has been identified and a firearm and vehicle used in the crime have been recovered. The Sheriff’s office said in a statement that there does not appear to be a motivation for the crime other than a senseless act of animal cruelty. No charges have yet been filed but warrants are expected to be obtained from the Johnson County Attorney’s office. If you have any information on the case, please call the Sheriff’s office at 606-789-3411.
