Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post, is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Pike County. The collision occurred during the afternoon hours of Wednesday, February 8, 2017. The preliminary investigation indicated that Timothy Patrick was traveling westbound on Grapevine Road in the Phyllis community of Pike County. Patrick lost control of his 2014 Chevrolet pickup, crossing into the oncoming lane and colliding with a 1994 Chevrolet pickup operated by 66-year-old William Griffey, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Griffey was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
