On February 8, 2017, at approximately 7:45pm, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Barry L. Tackett, 58, of Anderson County, on charges related to distribution and possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Tackett was arrested as the result on an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. Tackett is charged with nine counts of distribution and 12 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, each punishable up to five years in prison.
