Big Sandy Community and Technical College and the Big Sandy Singers and Band held a workshop for area high school students participating in the Big Sandy Idol Regional Competition on Saturday, February 4 on the Prestonsburg campus. The all-day workshop covered proper stage etiquette and performing techniques. Members of the Big Sandy Singers and Band, many of whom participated in Big Sandy Idol Regional Competitions in years past, served as mentors to this year’s participants. The Big Sandy Idol Regional Competition will be March 10 and 11 at the Mountain Arts Center. Tickets are $12 and $8 for groups of 10 or more.
