A Floyd County man was arrested on Wednesday, February 22 for woodland arson. Sgt. Homer L. Pigman of the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources arrested Jonathon Shepherd for allegedly setting a fire off HWY 1210. Witnesses said they spotted Shepherd at or near three separate fires. After arrest, he confessed to setting the fire. Shepherd is charged with setting fire on land owned by another and first degree wanton endangerment, a class D felony.
