Two Arrested for Meth After Traffic Stop in Johnson County

On Tuesday, February 28, around 9:20pm, Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy Byron Fairchild observed a black Monte Carlo driving at night with no head lights on. A traffic stop was executed and Deputy Fairchild determined the driver of the vehicle, Lowell Maynard, 28 of Louisa, was operating on a DUI suspended driver’s license and was under the influence at the time. The passenger, Joey Thomas, 30, also appeared to be under the influence. A search of the vehicle found a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Both were arrested and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
