Beshear Proposes $142 Million Cut to LG&E, KU Revenue Increase

Attorney General Andy Beshear announced Thursday, March 9, that his Office of Rate Intervention is recommending that the Public Service Commission hold LG&E and Kentucky Utilities to approximately one-third of their requested increase. The utility companies requested a $210 million increase in annual revenues, which Beshear’s proposal asks the PSC to reduce the request by $142 million. Beshear said his office found the requested increase to be excessive. He also requested the fixed customer charge remain the same, with no additional increase. A public hearing on the matter is scheduled for May 2 at the PSC in Frankfort.
