Designate a Sober Driver this St. Patrick’s Day

As Kentuckians prepare to celebrate one of the country’s most popular holidays, the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety is reminding motorists to plan for a designated driver before the St. Patrick’s Day party begins. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 25 percent of the fatal crashes that occurred last year during St. Patrick’s day involved drunken drivers. To prevent roadway tragedies, KOHS recommends designating a sober driver and leaving your car keys at home, using public transportation or another sober driver, contact law enforcement if you see a drunken driver, and helping people who are about to drive impaired to make other arrangements.
