Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Trafficking Arrest in Bell County

On Thursday, March 9, Bell County Deputy Chris Barnes observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the Laurel Hill area around 3:15pm. A traffic stop was conducted and it was discovered the driver, 21-year-old Korey Baker, did not have insurance on the 2006 Pontiac. With prior knowledge of a wanted individual at Baker’s residence on Highway 987, Deputy Barnes asked for permission to search the home, which was given. Numerous drugs and paraphernalia were discovered, along with two handguns, three rifles, and a shotgun. Baker was charged with trafficking and possession and released on a $5,000 cash bond. The wanted individual had left the residence.
