Dr. Alan Scheibmeir, interim president of Big Sandy Community and Technical College, was recognized by Kentucky Senate Minority Floor Leader Ray S. Jones II during a trip to the Capitol on Wednesday, March 15. Dr. Scheibmeir said he’s never received such a distinct honor in his 40 years of work in higher education. The interim president had meetings with several representatives and senators, presenting each with a custom nameplate made by carpentry and visual communication students, a custom coaster made by American Metal Works, and fudge prepared by BSCTC employee Angie Burton.
