Students from several Floyd County schools participated in a Next Steps camp on Friday, March 17 on the Mayo campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College. This marks the second year for the camp, which seeks to prepare students for careers in the areas of healthcare, advanced manufacturing and information technology. Students spent part of the day with Jerry Howard, associate professor of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design at BSCTC. Howard said it is rewarding to have students come in and learn like this, connecting with them, and showing their passion for their craft.
