Early in the morning hours of Thursday, March 23, 2017, the Kentucky State Police, Pikeville Post received a 911 call of a structure fire in the Island Creek community of Pike County. The preliminary investigation at the scene by KSP Detectives revealed that emergency personnel located one adult female deceased inside the residence. The victim, Connie Holt, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner, Russell Roberts. The cause of the fire and death is under investigation.
