More than 15 faculty, staff, students and friends from Big Sandy Community and Technical College participated in the Spring Clean Sweep at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park on Saturday, March 18. The college helped sponsor the event, which collected more than 300 bags of trash from around Dewey Lake and the park. Jennifer Little, public relations specialist at BSCTC, said they were honored to help clean the lake up for the upcoming summer season. Dr. Alan Scheibmeir, interim president of BSCTC, commended the volunteers for their work, saying this speaks volumes about how much the people at the college care about the community.
