Navigational Light Upgrades Bridges in Boyd County to Cause Delays

A $364,000 upgrade to navigational lights on three Ohio River bridges will mean traffic impacts for interstate commuters in Boyd and Greenup counties this April. In Ashland, to lessen traffic impacts, no work will take place on the 12th street bridge before 9am and no work will take place on the 13th street bridge after 3pm. At other times, motorists should expect daily lane closures on the Ashland bridge, as well as heavy traffic and delays while contractors are working. In the Ashland area, travelers may reroute using the Ironton-Russell Bridge to avoid work zones between US 23 and Russell and Ironton.
