Hazard Police Remind Pet Owners of Animals at Large Ordinance

Hazard Police are warning pet owners of complaint increases in the spring and summer of dogs running loose. Hazard City ordinances prohibit dogs and other animals from running at large in public areas or private land without owner consent. The ordinance also states animals will be impounded with the owners liable for any damages caused and could face a penalty of up to $500 for each offense. In response to increasing complaints, Safety Officer Keith Gwin has been designated to respond and assist to any complaints of at large animals.
