The dust has settled from the 2017 Kentucky Legislative Session and several groups and organizations are weighing in on how it went, including the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. Lawmakers were in session for a week in early January when they usually get organized for their return in February. But this year, legislators used that time to pass a right to work law and repeal the prevailing wage law, which have long been priorities of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. President and CEO David Adkisson calls those first five days historic. Adkisson counts passage of medical review panels, charter schools, and telecommunications reform laws as big wins for business and credits the governor and legislative leaders for keeping the session focused.
