On April 20, 2017, the Prestonsburg Police Department conducted a regular traffic stop on a Nissan passenger car in the Prestonsburg Village area that resulted in two arrests on several drug charges. During the traffic stop, officers could smell a strong odor coming from the vehicle that appeared to be marijuana. The vehicle’s owner gave verbal consent to a search. Officers located marijuana, a small amount of cash, a large amount of crystal meth, and drug paraphernalia. Randall Crider, 28, and Deana Lafferty, 29, were arrested and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
