Bell County Woman Arrested for Unplugging Husband’s Oxygen

On Monday, May 1, at 2:52am, Bell County Dispatch relayed a call from a Bill Branch Road residence regarding a problem between a husband and wife to Bell County Deputy James Taulbee. The husband, Monroe Slusher, said his wife had been intentionally unplugging his oxygen machine, causing him difficulty breathing. His wife, Susan, was questioned and said she did not care if he died and that she wanted a divorce. The deputy asked if she was serious about her intentions and that she could go to jail, to which she answered for him to come get her. Susan Slusher, 62, was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment. She was released 12 hours later on a $5,000 bond.
