On Sunday April 30, 2017 at approximately 12:30am, Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst observed a vehicle traveling at a slow rate of speed in the fast lane of US 25E in Flat Lick. While Deputy Ashurst was behind the vehicle, the driver threw out a liquor bottle, striking his cruiser. After stopping the vehicle and approaching the driver, Deputy Ashurst noticed that she had white residue around the outside of her mouth, and something inside her mouth. Deputy Ashurst was able to get her to spit out 14 Gabapentin tablets. The driver, Rachel Durham, 26, became combative when arrested. Durham was charged with DUI, criminal littering, prescription controlled substance not in original container, resisting arrest, and other charges.
