Man Arrested for Attempted Break-In of South Laurel Middle School

On Monday, May 1, at 8:06pm, London Police responded to a call of a man in white shorts with no shirt attempting to break into South Laurel Middle School. The man was reportedly throwing rocks at the school windows in an attempt to break them and gain entry. Upon arrival of Officer Jordan Hopkins, he located Clarence Elkins, 21, pulling on one of the schools windows in an attempt to break it with his hands. Two windows were damaged. After fleeing on foot, Elkins was arrested and damaged wires in a police cruiser while being transported to the Laurel County Detention Center.
