On Tuesday, May 2, London Police arrested Brian D. Kinney, 34, of Keavy, on a warrant regarding 2nd degree wanton endangerment and fourth-degree assault of a child. During the arrest, Detective Sgt. Joe Smith discovered methamphetamine on his person. According to a complaint made on April 24, Kinney forced a 10-year-old child to stand next to him as her covered a spark plug in gasoline and ignited it. These actions caused the child’s shorts to catch fire, causing 2nd degree burns on their upper thigh, for which Kinney did not seek immediate medical attention for the child. He was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
