Restaurant Row Construction Activity Increasing

Drivers and passengers traveling the bust Restaurant Row section of the Mountain Parkway will notice more construction activity in the coming weeks. Crews recently began blasting and this week will begin mobbing excavated dirt and rock from near the Magoffin County Health Department to gill areas near the Burning Fork bridge. Trucks will haul 20 to 25 loads of material per hour to the fill area, crossing US 460 near St. Luke Catholic Church. Continued blasting will occur nearly daily in the project area. Initial blasting will occur behind the Magoffin County Health Department and near the intersection of the parkway and Burning Fork Road. Crews have placed barrier walls along the parkway in some places to prevent debris from falling on the road.
