Members of the South Floyd Band and Director Elliott Hawks competed at the Kentucky Music Educators Association District 9 Band Competition on April 13 at Pikeville High School. The competition included bands from the region. The South Floyd band received a Distinguished rating in the KMEA band competition. The school has only recently hand a band in the past couple of years. Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb and the Floyd County Board of Education team congratulated them on their Distinguished rating.
