An arrest occurred around 2pm Monday, May 8 in Laurel County on KY 1223, regarding a warrant service. When deputies arrived at the scene, the subject, 45-year-old Johnny Smith, spotted the deputies and attempted to flee. Smith was apprehended after a short foot chase and brief struggle. In addition to the charge of evading police, he was served for a two warrants, one for receiving stolen property and another for burglary. Johnny Smith was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
