Year Two for Lunch, Literacy, and Learning

The Floyd County Schools Lunch, Literacy & Learning Summer Program will begin its second year on June 5 and run to June 30. There will be three school sites for their summer program, along with a mobile route to deliver food to areas where there is a large number of kids. There will be different activities for kids of different ages, including the Floyd County Library Mobile Library. Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb said they need parents to attend with their children and that they will enjoy watching their kids learn. Stops will be made at Left Beaver Townhouses, Highland Heights Apartments, Maytown Center, and the Ivy Creek Townhouses, with Early Childhood activities daily for children aged 1 to 6 and STEM activities for children aged 7 to 13. A full schedule can be found at q95fm.net.
