Traffic signal loop replacements along US 23 in Coal Run will continue on Tuesday, May 16, at the Kentucky Blood Center. Signal loops will be replaced across four lanes of traffic in that location. That work should take three to four hours, weather permitting. Lanes will be closed one at a time while the work is under way. If rain interferes, the work will be rescheduled on the first dry evenings and days available. Traffic signal loops are the cables that run underneath the pavement, which send signals to the computerized switching station. The loops allow signals to be activated by vehicle pressure on the pavement rather than a timer.
