The Floyd County Health Department is warning residents about a new drug that could be in the area that is referred to as “gray death.” “Gray death” is a mixture of heroin, potent painkillers and elephant tranquilizers, which creates a lethal combination of opioids. The cocktail is described as looking like a concrete mix and varies in consistency from a hard chunky material to a fine powder. The combination of drugs is too strong for Narcan and has killed people in Ohio, Georgia, Alabama and Kentucky.
