On Sunday, May 21, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals after a traffic stop on US 421, shortly after midnight. Through further investigation, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm were located on the individuals and inside the vehicle. Derek Hensley, 38, of Cawood, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He and Aimee Woodward, 33, of Harlan, were also charged with drug possession. Sim York, 42, was arrested on a parole warrant and charged with promoting contraband after attempting to take contraband into the detention center. All three were lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
