The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office lost a member of their K9 unit Tuesday, May 23. The Office’s K9 Liah passed away of natural causes. She was a member of the Sheriff’s Office since November 2005 when she was purchased from Battle Ridge K9. Liah was a valued member of the team and instrumental in the detection of illegal drugs, suspect tracking, and the education of children and citizens of Lawrence County. During her years of service, K9 Liah was handled and cared for by Sheriff Garrett Roberts, Deputy William Mynhier, and the majority spent with K9 Handler Sgt. Chuck Jackson.
