CSX has started work on the double set of railroad tracks on KY 7 near the intersection with KY 931 near Colson in Letcher County. Repairs to the tracks are under way in advance of the highway department’s project to pave the roadway in that area. Ken Mullins, with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 12 Letcher County Section Office, said the work site will remain closed until about 5:30pm June 1 while the CSX crew complete work. Motorists will have to use an alternate route. The closure is only at the double set of railroad tracks on KY 7 near the junction with KY 931 and all other locations are open.
