A Perry County man was fatally injured in a single vehicle crash Thursday, June 1. Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 13 responded to Right Fork Maces Creek Road in the Viper community of Perry County, after calls came in advising of the collision just after 7pm. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders located a 2014 Jeep Compass resting in the middle of the roadway with a single motorist inside. Witnesses at the scene advised Troopers that the vehicle went off the roadway and struck an embankment before stopping in the roadway. Ryan D. Hughes, 33, of Viper, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Perry County Coroner. No autopsy will be performed and toxicology results are pending.
