On June 21, around 4:20pm, Perry County 911 received a call of two subjects passed out in a car in a Save A Lot parking lot at Grand Vue Plaza. Hazard police and the Perry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, where a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a large amount of drugs. Patty Lawson was charged with possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail. Melissa Ritchie was transported to Hazard ARH but will be charged as well. Crystal Meth, 198 pills, and 4 syringes were recovered.
