An Indiana man was arrested in Laurel County around 4:30am Wednesday, June 28. The arrest occurred on KY 3434 after Deputy Gary Mehler was dispatched to a complaint of a man having been stabbed and shot and laying in a ditch near the HWY 1376 intersection. When emergency personnel arrived, a man, Thomas Scarborough, 47, of Indianapolis, was found rolling in the ditch. The odor of alcohol was detected on the subject, who said he drank over 20 beers. An investigation found a small scratch on the man’s ear to be his only injury. He was arrested for public intoxication and falsely reporting an incident and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
